Buurtboerderij Nieuweweg is an urban community farm and vegetable garden located in Haarlem-Oost. It operates as a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) initiative, focusing on ecologically grown food, education, and community building. The farm aims to reconnect people with nature and each other through locally grown produce, cultural events, and hands-on learning.
The primary offering is a self-pick harvest subscription, which allows members to pick their own vegetables, herbs, and fruit directly from the fields. The self-pick season runs from April through November, covering approximately 35 weeks. Available produce includes both common vegetables like courgette, paprika, tomato, onion, garlic, cucumber, lettuce, cabbages, and pumpkins, as well as lesser-known or “forgotten” vegetables such as kohlrabi, chard, rapeseed, and winter purslane. In addition to vegetables, the farm also offers an egg subscription where members can adopt a chicken and collect fresh eggs. All produce is grown seasonally and without the use of chemical pesticides.
