De Warmoes is a historical market garden located in Lent, near Nijmegen, dedicated to preserving and sharing traditional market gardening knowledge. This non-profit foundation cultivates over a hundred different vegetable varieties year-round, employing sustainable and circular methods without pesticides, while also fostering biodiversity. Visitors are welcome to harvest their own produce directly from the fields during the harvest season. The self-picking options, which are clearly marked, include a diverse range of vegetables such as Swiss chard (warmoes), Lent white cucumber, winter purslane, root parsley, sorrel, rue, leaf mustard, turnip greens, lettuce, radishes, carrots, tomatoes, and eggplants. As of 2025, the vegetable garden is undergoing a transition, with a focus on supporting the community’s own needs and external vegetable sales being very limited. Additionally, products such as elderflower syrup, apple syrup, and local honey are produced on site. The farm also sells ethically raised roaster chickens, various chicken organs (gizzards, hearts, liver, necks, feet), and lamb meat packages.

HenksPluktuin is a self-picking garden located in Oosterbeek, Gelderland, dedicated to cultivating produce without pesticides. The garden offers different self-picking experiences. For its members, HenksPluktuin provides access to a kitchen garden where they can self-pick a variety of vegetables, herbs, fruit, and flowers throughout the year for an annual fee. There is currently a waitlist for new memberships. Non-members can visit the dedicated Flower Self-Picking Garden, which is open from June 1st to October 1st, Wednesday through Sunday, from 10:00 to 17:00. Visitors are provided with a basket and scissors to choose and harvest their own beautiful flowers.

De Horsterhof is an organic farm located near Arnhem in Duiven, dedicated to reconnecting people with nature through sustainable food production. The farm cultivates a wide variety of local and seasonal produce using 100% organic and regenerative farming methods. Visitors can engage with the farm in several ways, including a self-picking program. With a self-picking subscription, available from May 10th to November 1st, individuals can harvest their own fresh, seasonal produce and flowers directly from the fields and unheated greenhouses. The farm welcomes self-pickers from Monday to Saturday, between 08:30 and 19:00.

Pluktuin ‘Uit de tuin van de buren’ is a small-scale flower nursery and picking garden located on the grounds of Hoeve Klein Mariëndaal, at the edge of Arnhem. Operated by Moniek de Bakker, who also runs a garden design studio, this picking garden cultivates flowers without pesticides or artificial fertilizers, allowing them to grow and bloom in harmony with the seasons. The garden covers approximately 1000 square meters and features 60 flower beds. These beds contain a diverse array of perennial plants, flower bulbs, ornamental grasses, and a vibrant selection of annuals that flourish during the summer months.

Ommuurdetuin, also known as The Walled Garden, is an agro-ecological organic nursery situated in the historic vegetable garden of King William III, located between Renkum and Wageningen. Established in 1999, the garden is dedicated to cultivating over 500 varieties of edible crops, including vegetables, fruits, herbs, and edible flowers. It operates on principles of vegan agriculture, focusing on biodiversity and soil health without the use of animal manure. The garden is open to visitors from April to October on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and the first Sunday of each month. A farm shop on site sells fresh, seasonal produce, along with homemade jams, herbal teas, pickled vegetables, and plant materials such as seedlings, seeds, and potato tubers. Adjacent to the shop, a tea terrace offers a pleasant setting to enjoy coffee, fresh herbal teas, and homemade cakes, quiches, or soups while overlooking the garden.
