Flevoland farms

Flevoland has about fifteen pick-your-own farms on our list. That is not many, and they are far apart. The ones we mention below are near Zeewolde or all the way up in the Noordoostpolder. It is mostly apples and pears, flowers, and a few self-harvest vegetable gardens. There are strawberries and pumpkins too, but in few places.

A few u-pick farms worth knowing

Picking apples and pears in Flevoland is almost only possible on special picking days in September. Good to know before you find yourself at a closed orchard in August.

de Zuiderkrib in Kraggenburg is an organic flower garden with a coffee place attached. Tulips from Easter, bouquets of summer flowers from late June. The garden is open daily from June to the end of October, 10:00 to 18:00, although hours can change in hot weather. There are berries too. The orchard with old fruit varieties is still young, so nothing to harvest there for a few years.

Fruitbedrijf Masteling in Marknesse has been around since 1958. You can only pick on picking days, usually in September from 10:00 to 17:00, with a little train through the orchard and a beekeeper. Outside those days it is a regular fruit business with a shop.

Fruithal Smits in Zeewolde works the same way: the Smits family (since 1968, 17 hectares) holds a couple of apple picking days a year. In 2025 these were two Saturdays in September. The shop is open all year, Monday to Saturday from 8:00 to 17:00. Closed on Sunday. This is by far the busiest one here, with over 350 Google reviews and a 4.6.

Kraggenburg and Marknesse are in the Noordoostpolder. From Almere that is still a good drive, so don’t try to combine them with Zeewolde in one afternoon.

X T R A K R A G T in Kraggenburg is a pick-your-own flower farm with a public pluktuin open from July to the end of October. The field grows seasonal cut flowers—dahlias, annuals and perennials—alongside small fruit such as currants and gooseberries. Visitors pick their own bouquets and pay by the stem or bunch; the farm provides scissors and buckets. Pre-ordered plukboeketten can also be collected. The pluktuin is part of a working care farm that offers day activities, so the setting is a working agricultural site rather than a dedicated visitor attraction. The farm is wheelchair-accessible, with a paved parking area and step-free entrance. A small on-site café, Zuidpunt T121, serves coffee, homemade cakes and light lunches on Monday and Thursday afternoons from April until the autumn half-term. The café also sells farm-made jams, seeds and seasonal produce from a self-service cabinet.

Pluktuin ‘Plukken op de Zuiderkrib’ in Kraggenburg is a pick-your-own flower farm where visitors can cut their own seasonal blooms from June until the end of October. The fields are planted with summer flowers, including annuals and perennials, and from late June onwards, you can create your own bouquets. The farm also grows vlas (flax) and, during the season, offers berries for picking by weight. You pick your own flowers using scissors and twine provided in the garden. Payment is based on an honour system: a price list and QR code are displayed on-site, and you pay according to the length of your bouquet. Children can join in with adult supervision. The farm is open daily during the season from 10.00 to 18.00, though opening times may change in very hot weather—check the farm’s social media for updates.

Fruitbedrijf Masteling

Fruitbedrijf Masteling in Marknesse is a pick-your-own apple and pear orchard. The farm grows several varieties, including Elstar, Jonagold, Golden Delicious, Rubens and Junami apples, and Conference, Doyenné du Comice and Verdi pears. They also cultivate cooking pears such as Winterriet, Sant Remy and Gieser Wildeman. The picking season runs from early September to late October. Visitors can harvest fruit directly from the trees, with low-growing varieties making it accessible without ladders. A small train is used to transport picked fruit through the orchard. The farm provides containers, and you pay by weight. During the harvest period, the orchard hires temporary workers to assist with picking.

Groene Pluk | Zelfoogsttuin

At Groene Pluk in Zeewolde you pick your own organic vegetables, herbs and flowers from May to the end of November. The farm grows around 30 types of vegetables, including familiar ones such as tomatoes, lettuce, potatoes and pumpkins, and less common ones like bimi, salsify and kohlrabi. The selection changes weekly with the season. You also pick herbs and edible flowers from the herb garden. Groene Pluk works as a community-supported farm. You buy a season share, which gives you the right to pick a weekly portion of whatever is ready. The share costs between €395 and €475 for the season, depending on your income. One share is enough for one person or for a couple who eat from the farm three or four times a week. You can harvest from Wednesday to Saturday, 10.00 to 20.00. Each week the farm sends an email listing what is ready and how to pick it. You bring your own bags or baskets.

Fruithal Smits

Fruithal Smits in Zeewolde is a pick-your-own orchard where visitors can harvest apples and pears during the season. The farm grows Elstar and Goudreinet apples, and Alexander Lucas and Conference pears. Picking days are held on two Saturdays in September, from 10.00 to 16.00, with no need to book in advance. Visitors pick for personal use, not for the farm. On these days, a mobile apple press is available to turn freshly picked apples into juice, sold in 5-litre boxes.

At Fruitpluktuin in Rutten, visitors pick their own fruit from rows of berries, bushes and trees across a 5,000-square-metre garden. The farm grows brambles (July to October), summer and autumn raspberries (June to October), redcurrants (June to July), kiwiberries (September to October), grapes (September to October), elderberries (September to November), several varieties of apples and pears (September to October), cherries (July to early August), plums (July to August), apricots (August to September), peaches and nectarines (August to September). Pumpkins, gourds and sunflowers are also available in season.

Vink Fruitboerderij in Kraggenburg is a pick-your-own fruit farm where you can harvest apples and pears from late August until mid-October. The farm grows over a dozen varieties, including Elstar, Goudreinet and Robijn apples, and Conference and Doyenné du Comice pears. Some are ready for eating straight from the tree, others are better for cooking or storing. The fruit ripens at different times, so the selection changes through the season.

MMM Zorgboerderij | Triade Vitree

MMM Zorgboerderij in Zeewolde is a pick-your-own farm with a pluktuin where you can gather seasonal fruit such as redcurrants, raspberries, strawberries and blackberries. The farm also grows grapes. The fruit is available to pick during the summer months, typically from June until the produce runs out. You bring your own container or buy one in the farm shop. After picking, the fruit is weighed and you pay for what you have gathered. The pluktuin is open on weekdays from 09.30 to 15.00, though the farm shop stays open until 16.00. The farm itself is accessible at all times, but the animal enclosures close at 15.00.

Boerderij Groeizaam Winkel

Boerderij Groeizaam in Emmeloord is a pick-your-own flower farm and organic market garden. The flower field is open during the growing season, with dahlias, asters and zinnias available in autumn. You pick your own bouquet and pay by size, using a QR code or cash in the honesty box. Pluk vouchers are sold in the farm shop as gifts. The farm also grows vegetables and fruit, including potatoes, onions, beans, pumpkins, apples and pears. These are sold in the farm shop rather than picked by visitors. The shop stocks organic produce from the farm and the region: meat, dairy, cheese, bread toppings, rice and non-food items from brands like Weleda.

De 'Boerenshop'

At De Boerenshop in Marknesse you pick your own tulips. The tulip-picking season runs from mid-March until the flowers are finished, usually in late April or early May. The farm closes as soon as the last blooms are gone, so check the website before you visit. You pay by the bunch or by the bucket. The farm provides buckets and secateurs; you can also bring your own. The flowers grow in long, straight rows at standing height. Wheelchair-accessible parking and a step-free entrance are available.

Van Ons Land

Van Ons Land is a self-picking garden located at Sternweg 13, Zeewolde 3898LH. The self-picking garden is currently closed, with its reopening planned for June 2026. However, pumpkins are available daily for self-service from a stall. What visitors say This charming self-picking flower garden offers a delightful experience, highly recommended by visitors for its beautiful blooms and warm hospitality. Conveniently located directly opposite the popular Barefoot Path, it provides guests with the opportunity to gather their own unsprayed flowers.

De Stek

De Stek in Lelystad is a pick-your-own farm specialising in organic fruit and vegetables. The main season runs from mid-May to late November, with the farm open on Wednesdays from 15.00 to 17.00 and Saturdays from 10.00 to 13.00. During this period, visitors can pick a variety of produce, including strawberries, which are available for self-picking in June. The farm also grows an assortment of vegetables such as leafy greens, beans, herbs, root vegetables, and fruit like cherries and plums.
