Limburg farms

Limburg has a little under twenty pick-your-own farms on our list. Flowers, apples and pears are the most common, with plums and blueberries here and there. Limburg is known for its asparagus, but we don’t really have a place where you can cut it yourself. No cherries either. It is what it is.

Three pick-your-own farms in Limburg up close

The farms are spread from Griendtsveen in the north to Schinnen and Bingelrade in the south. That is over an hour’s drive apart. For one of the farms below we know very little, and we say so.

Pluktuin De Peel is in Griendtsveen, right up against the Brabant border, on the canal. Flower picking from April to mid or late October: first tulips, camassias and alliums, later dahlias and autumn flowers. Some fruit too. There is a small terrace for customers and free parking. The garden is accessible with a wheelchair or walker, unless the ground is too wet.

Plukplaats in Schinnen, on the corner of Hegge and Eyskensweg. Flowers, coffee, and pigs. You pay with a QR code. Visitors write that the opening hours are limited, but which hours those are, we don’t have. Nor the season.

Bloementuin Plukgeluk in Bingelrade is the best documented, with just over thirty reviews. 2000 m², about 150 kinds, open from late May to mid-October. A bunch of around 25 stems costs €17.50. There are picking cards: 3 visits for €39, 7 for €84. Entry is free and you can pay by card. There is a small playground, and a terrace with ice cream next door.

Plukplaats is a self-picking garden located in Schinnen, at the corner of Hegge-Eyskensweg. Visitors can pick their own flowers at this location. It also functions as a refreshment stop. The garden has been active for several seasons, with references to operations from 2022 and plans extending to 2025. What visitors say Visitors consistently praise this self-picking garden for its beautiful and diverse array of flowers, making it an ideal spot for gathering fresh blooms. Guests appreciate the convenience of selecting their own flowers and the straightforward QR code payment system. The presence of friendly pigs adds a charming touch to the experience. While the garden maintains limited opening hours, this often contributes to a wonderfully quiet and serene atmosphere for visitors.

Pluktuin De Peel

Pluktuin De Peel in Griendtsveen is an ecological pick-your-own flower garden and nature park on the edge of the Peel region. The garden grows perennials, bulbs, tubers (including dahlias), annuals, and ornamental grasses. Visitors can pick fresh bouquets from spring to late October, depending on the season and weather. You pick your own flowers using scissors provided at the entrance, where you also receive a bucket and instructions on pricing. Payment is by the stem or bunch, with options for cash or card. The farm also sells potted plants, including butterfly bushes, and offers gift vouchers for bouquets or workshops. Pre-ordered bouquets can be collected outside opening hours by arrangement.

Bloementuin Plukgeluk in Bingelrade is a pick-your-own flower garden where you cut your own bouquets from late May to mid-October. The two-hectare field grows around 150 varieties of flowers without chemical pesticides, so the selection changes as the season progresses. Early in the season you find spring bloomers like cornflowers, larkspur and lupins; later the summer flowers take over. At the entrance you take a bucket and scissors. A standard bunch of about 25 stems costs €17.50, but you can pick more or less. The garden is wheelchair-accessible, with accessible parking and entrance. You can pay by card.

At Fruitbedrijf Van Cleef in Belfeld you pick your own sweet cherries, apples and pears. The farm grows Elstar apples, Conference pears and several varieties of sweet cherries. The cherry season runs from early June to mid-July; apples and pears are ready from late August to October. During these periods the farm is open for picking on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday afternoons. Outside the picking season the farm shop is open on Thursday afternoons, Fridays and Saturdays.

Pluk en Theetuin in de 7e Hemel in Grashoek is a pick-your-own farm where visitors can gather flowers and seasonal fruit. The farm grows a variety of soft fruits, including strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and currants, as well as tree fruits like apples, pears, plums, and cherries. Flowers can be picked from the borders to create your own bouquet. The fruit from the orchard is not available for picking but is sold in bags when in season.

Akkerwikke in Maastricht is a certified organic pick-your-own farm where visitors harvest their own vegetables, herbs, strawberries and cut flowers. The farm grows over 60 types of vegetables, 20 herbs and seasonal strawberries, all available for picking from May to December. From June to October, a separate flower field supplies around 20 weeks of fresh cut flowers for weekly bouquets. The farm operates on a subscription model. Visitors sign up for a full season—either a vegetable harvest share, a flower share, or both—and collect their produce weekly. Vegetable shares are priced per person per week (€5, €6 or €8 depending on the size) and cover a household’s needs for the season. Flower shares cost €9 per week for a self-picked bouquet. Trial subscriptions for one month are also available.

Fruitboerderij (Görtz Fruit)

Fruitboerderij (Görtz Fruit) in Baarlo is a family-run fruit farm that has grown cherries, pears, plums, apples and grapes along the Maas for over 150 years. From late June to early October, visitors can pick their own fruit during organised picking days. The farm grows morello cherries (a small, tart variety), Williams and Conference pears, mirabelle and blue plums, Elstar, Braeburn and Gloster apples, and small quantities of Auxerrois, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir grapes. Each fruit has its own picking window: cherries in late June and early July, Williams pears in mid-August, mirabelles and blue plums in August and early September, and apples from late August to mid-September. The exact dates are announced on the farm’s website and Facebook page a few days in advance, as they depend on the weather and ripeness.

At Plantage Blankwater in Boukoul, near Roermond, you pick your own blueberries from late June to the end of September. The farm grows 20 hectares of blueberry bushes, with several varieties that ripen at different times during the season. You pay by the kilo for what you pick, and the farm provides containers. Picking is possible at standing height. The farm is open daily from 10.00 to 17.30. Outside the picking season, frozen blueberries and blueberry products, such as juice and jam made from the farm’s own berries, are sold in the farm shop. The shop also stocks blueberry plants.

LOCOtuinen Maastricht

LOCOtuinen Maastricht is a pick-your-own garden in Oud-Caberg where members grow and harvest their own organic vegetables. The farm operates as a cooperative, with participants working alongside three full-time growers—Daud, Glenn and Jannis—to produce seasonal crops without chemical pesticides or artificial fertilisers. The garden is open year-round, seven days a week from 08.00 to 20.00. Harvesting is organised through a seasonal OogstDeelAbonnement (harvest-share subscription), which runs for about 30 weeks. Subscriptions are available for households of one, two or three or more people, with prices adjusted monthly if you join after June. In 2026, a one-person share costs €295 for the full season, dropping to €42 by December. Members receive a weekly email listing what is ready to pick and how much they can take. You harvest only what you need for fresh use that week, though surplus may be available. Payment is upfront, and subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled by 1 November.

Kwekerij en Pluktuin van Buggenum

Kwekerij en Pluktuin van Buggenum is a pick-your-own flower farm near Buggenum in Limburg. From mid-May to October, visitors can cut their own bouquets from the field. The farm grows perennials, grasses and seasonal flowers suitable for cutting. You pay €8.50 for 20 stems or €12.50 for a ready-made bouquet. Some flowers are priced per stem at €1. A subscription for three self-picked bouquets costs €22.50 and can be posted anywhere in the Netherlands.

Tuinbouwbedrijf Bonten

Tuinbouwbedrijf Bonten in Baexem is a pick-your-own farm specialising in pumpkins and asparagus. The farm grows over 150 varieties of pumpkins and gourds, including ornamental, edible and Halloween types. Pumpkin picking takes place in autumn. The main pick-your-own days are held on the last Sunday in September and the first Sunday in October, from 10.00 to 16.00. Entry costs €2.50 per person (children under two free). You pay for the pumpkins by weight: up to 5 kg at €1.95 per kilo, 5–10 kg at €1.60 per kilo, and over 10 kg at €1.40 per kilo. Pumpkins heavier than 8 kg are half price per kilo. Bring your own secateurs and bags, or use the farm’s buckets. A trolley shuttles between the field and the farmyard to transport your harvest.

Jachtslot Mookerheide

At Zelfgeplukt in Molenhoek, near Nijmegen, you pick your own seasonal cut flowers from May to October. The farm grows around 75 varieties of flowers, including cornflowers, delphiniums, dahlias, cosmos, sunflowers and lupines, all cultivated organically. You create your own bouquet by cutting the stems yourself; tools are provided. A large bouquet costs €16, a small one €11. Discounts are available with a strip card, sold on-site or online. The farm is open for picking on Fridays from 13.00 to 16.00 and Saturdays from 11.00 to 16.00 during the season. Additional evening picking sessions are sometimes held on Tuesdays and Thursdays—check the website for updates. Outside these hours, the farm is closed. In extreme heat, opening times may shift to earlier in the day.
