Beiketún

Beiketún

Beiketún is a self-picking garden dedicated to blueberries, cultivated across approximately one hectare. The garden prides itself on maintaining its crops as naturally as possible, foregoing chemical pesticides and artificial fertilizers to ensure a pure, natural product. The blueberry picking season typically extends from July through October.

Visitors are welcome to pick as many blueberries as they desire. To preserve the quality of the garden, guests are kindly requested to handle the bushes with care, pick only ripe fruit, and use the designated bins for waste. Smoking is prohibited, and children must be supervised at all times. After picking, the fresh blueberries should be weighed and paid for, either at a designated money box or via bank transfer. A reusable Beiketun bag is available for purchase for €5. For those interested in pre-picked berries, prices for 2025 are €4.25 for 500 grams and €8.50 for 1000 grams.

In addition to berry picking, Beiketún hosts a bee house, where beekeeper Roelof is often present on weekends, sharing fascinating insights into bee colonies and their vital role. The farm also offers a selection of blueberry recipes, ranging from breakfast smoothies and muffins to yogurt ice cream and goat cheese salad.

Beiketún is situated at de Wedze naast 22 b, 9286 EZ Twijzel, and can be reached via [email protected] or 0683139986. Updates and information are also shared on their Facebook and Instagram pages. The garden is currently closed for the season, having thanked all visitors and eagerly anticipating their return next year.
