Loverendale Ter Linde is a biodynamic mixed farm located in Oostkapelle, offering a variety of produce and amenities. The farm cultivates an extensive range of fruits, including various apple varieties such as Collina, Alkmene, Elstar, Topaz, and Natyra, along with Conference and Gieser Wildeman pears. Walnuts are also grown on the premises. The vegetable cultivation includes potatoes (firm-cooking Vita Bella and floury Agria), orange pumpkins, green beans, chicory, and wheat. A dedicated area is also used for growing biodynamic cut flowers.
The farm’s produce, fresh eggs from its mobile chicken coop, and beef and pork from its own herd, are available for purchase in the on-site bio-farm shop. Visitors can also access fresh milk 24/7 from a self-service milk tap. The farm features a bakery that produces daily fresh sourdough bread, viennoiserie, and patisserie, often utilizing ingredients sourced directly from their land. Seasonal homemade ice cream, crafted from the farm’s own cows’ milk and local fruit, is also available.
Beyond its agricultural offerings, Loverendale Ter Linde provides a family-friendly camping site with 25 pitches and a holiday home accommodating up to 8 guests. Other facilities include a coffee bar and terrace, an indoor space for breakfast and lunch, and a natural playground designed for children. The farm operates under strict biodynamic principles, holding the Demeter quality label, and emphasizes a short supply chain where many products are grown, processed, and sold directly on the farm.
What visitors say
This charming farm and organic bakery consistently receives high praise for its exceptional quality products and inviting atmosphere. Visitors frequently rave about the delicious, handcrafted baked goods, particularly the sourdough breads, croissants, and an array of exquisite cakes and tarts, often described as a “taste explosion” or even “life-changing” – especially the homemade ice cream and its unique cones. Many consider it the best bakery in the region, offering a selection of whole wheat, rye, and spelt breads.
Beyond the bakery, the location provides a wonderful farm experience. Guests appreciate the ethical animal husbandry, specifically highlighting the well-kept pig and chicken enclosures. The farm shop offers a wide variety of fresh, biodynamic vegetables, raw milk (including Demeter cow’s milk), organic cheese, and apple juice, providing a comprehensive selection of natural, high-quality products.
The ambiance is consistently described as pleasant, relaxed, and welcoming, making it an ideal spot for families, complete with a shady playground for children. Many recommend it as a perfect stop during a bike tour or for regular grocery shopping if living nearby. Service is generally noted as friendly and cheerful, and ample free parking is available.
While experiences are overwhelmingly positive, one visitor did note a disappointing and overpriced breakfast buffet experience with a perceived lack of attention to detail and service, contrasting sharply with their previous positive visits. However, this appears to be an isolated incident amidst a chorus of strong recommendations for its quality, craftsmanship, and overall delightful farm environment.
