Blauwe Bessen Berkelland

Blauwe Bessen Berkelland

Blauwe Bessen Berkelland is a self-picking garden that specializes in blueberries. Visitors can pick 100% unsprayed, fresh blueberries from hundreds of bushes on the farm. The garden cultivates several highbush varieties, including Brigitta Blue, known for large, sweet berries, and Liberty, which offers a crisp, fresh, and sweet taste and is particularly easy to pick. From 2024, the early-ripening Duke variety will also be available, producing large, fresh berries that maintain good flavor even with less sun.

During the season, the farm also offers other products for sale at a roadside stall, such as blueberry jam, chocolate truffles with blueberry filling, and honey. The blueberry jam is notably made by Bloemenboerderij ‘de Scholte’ Geesteren.

The self-picking garden is situated between Haarlo and Borculo. To reach it, one takes the exit onto Hogebrugweg, and the entrance is located between two wooden fences after a meadow on the right. Payments can be made with cash or via QR code. The farm operates seasonally, typically welcoming pickers during the summer months.
