Blauwe Bessen Berkelland

Blauwe Bessen Berkelland

Blauwe Bessen Berkelland is a self-picking farm and nursery located between Haarlo and Borculo. The farm specializes in growing highbush blueberries (Vaccinium Corymbosum), with hundreds of bushes cultivated across three main varieties: Duke, Brigitta Blue, and Liberty. The Duke variety produces early, large, and fresh berries, while Brigitta Blue offers large, sweet berries with high ornamental value, and Liberty provides easy-to-pick, crunchy, and sweet berries. All blueberries and products are grown 100% without pesticides.

The picking season runs during the summer months. When the season is active, fresh blueberries, blueberry jam, chocolate truffles with blueberry filling, and honey are available for purchase at a roadside sales table. Accepted payment methods include cash and QR code. For pollination, the farm maintains several bee colonies and a bumblebee colony, ensuring good fruit development even in cooler spring conditions.

The property is wheelchair accessible with designated parking. The farm is currently operational. Access to the picking garden is via the Hogebrugweg turn-off, with the entrance located between two wooden gates after the pasture field.
