Blauwe Bessengaard op ´t Leeuweriksveld

’t Leeuweriksveld is a biodynamic vegetable farm and orchard located in Emmen, in the province of Drenthe. For over 20 years, the farm has offered a wide variety of vegetables and fruit. Across the property, a blueberry orchard on a quarter-hectare of land is open for self-picking seasonally. The blueberry picking season typically runs from late spring through the end of August. In addition to blueberries, the farm grows other types of berries for picking, including blackberries and tayberries, as well as grapes, medlars, quinces, and apples.

From spring until late autumn, a separate self-harvest program allows members to come and pick their own vegetables from the fields. Members can harvest from a diverse selection of produce including leaf crops like lettuce, spinach, and kale; root vegetables such as beets, carrots, potatoes, and parsnips; cabbages like broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and white cabbage; climbing beans, peas, and courgettes. The self-oogsten program is available five days a week: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The farm is closed for harvesting on Tuesdays and Sundays. The farm stand is open Monday from 15:00 to 18:00, Thursday from 14:00 to 18:00, Friday from 9:00 to 17:00, and Saturday from 9:00 to 14:00, with the stand closed on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Sunday.
