Bloemenhof is a flower picking garden located in Nieuwerbrug aan den Rijn, founded in 2023. It offers visitors the opportunity to pick their own flowers and enjoy a natural, serene environment. The garden runs on a principle of sustainability, using locally grown and seasonal blooms. Guests can pick a variety of flowers directly from the field, with the self-picking season opening annually starting May 3rd. There is no on-site cashier; instead, visitors use a measuring board and QR code payment system to weigh and pay for their bouquets.
The farm is open from May 3rd onward for the picking season. It is situated on the grounds of De Koffietuin at Weijpoort 12. Parking is limited, so guests are advised to park at the nearby Wierickeschans if the lot is full. In addition to self-picking, Bloemenhof hosts workshops and events, including botanical art, bouquet tying classes, botanical drawing, and botanical fabric wrapping. A plant swap market is also held on May 16th. Subscription options for weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly flower deliveries are available for those who prefer home delivery.
