Specific self-picking days for fruit are held on two Saturdays in September, from 10:00 to 16:00. During these events, visitors can pick their own apples and pears directly from the orchard. The primary apple variety available for picking is Jonagored. Pear varieties include Conference, Doyenne du Commice, and St. Remy stewing pears. Additionally, Gieser Wildeman stewing pears and Goudreinet apples can be selected from designated boxes. Guests are advised to bring their own bags, crates, or boxes for collecting fruit. Payment for picked fruit is per kilogram and is accepted only in cash or via a QR code using a Dutch banking app, as no ATM is present on site. Entry to the orchard is free, and the events often include extra activities such as a tour with the “stoofpeerexpress,” alongside offerings of coffee, tea, apple juice, and apple crumble cake. This self-picking orchard, known as “Op Noten,” is located on Schepenlaan, south of the Othene district in Terneuzen, which is a different address from the main farm.
Throughout the apple and pear harvest season until early March, a self-service fruit cart is available at the main farm location. This cart is regularly stocked with fresh apples and pears cultivated in their own orchard. Apple varieties sold include Santana, Jonagored (also referred to as Novajo), Elstar, Wellant, Goudreinet (Rode van Boskoop), and Cox. Available pear varieties are Conference, Doyenne du Commice, Gieser Wildeman stewing pear, and St. Remy stewing pear. Purchases from the fruit cart can be made using cash or a QR code with a Dutch banking app.
