Cadsand Fruit in Zaamslag is a pick-your-own orchard and flower field. From June to the end of October, visitors can pick seasonal flowers in the self-service flower field. The main crop is fruit: apples and pears, available for picking during two annual self-pick days in September. In 2026, these take place on Saturday 12 and Saturday 19 September, from 10.00 to 16.00.
The flower field is open daily from sunrise to sunset. You pick your own bouquet, cut the stems with provided secateurs, and pay based on the thickness of the bunch at the binding point. Prices start at €5. Payment is by cash in the honesty box or via a Dutch mobile banking app using a QR code. The farm provides buckets and secateurs, but you can bring your own.
For the apple and pear picking days, the orchard is at a separate location south of the Othene district in Terneuzen. You pick what you want and pay by the kilo, with prices set on the day. Only cash or Dutch mobile banking apps are accepted—no card payments. The farm provides scales, but you must bring your own bags, boxes or crates. Activities like a treasure hunt and a ride on the “stoofpeerexpress” (a small train) are free. Coffee, tea, apple juice and apple crumble cake are available on the orchard terrace while stocks last.
From September until the end of January, the farm sells apples and pears from its own orchard at a self-service fruit cart on the premises. Varieties include Santana and Elstar apples, and Conference pears. Honey and pumpkins are also available when in season. The farm is wheelchair-accessible, with accessible parking and entrance.

The farm is best known for its apple and pear picking, with rows of trees that visitors return to year after year. The fruit is fresh and tasty, and at €1.50 per kilo, most find it reasonably priced. Staff are friendly and helpful, though you’ll need to walk to the back of the farm to find the picking garden—signs point the way. There’s also a greenhouse and flower picking on certain days, along with freshly baked apple pie and drinks to take a break. A few mention it’s a unique experience, though the setup might not suit everyone, especially if you’re not keen on searching for the right spot. Kids can join in, but there’s no mention of extra facilities for them.
