De Gagelgaard is a self-harvest garden located on the Gageldijk 3 in the Overvecht area of Utrecht. Positioned at the edge of the neighborhood near Tuincentrum Steck, the garden is part of a larger city oasis that includes a café, a nursery, and a flower-picking garden.
This garden offers a community-supported agriculture model where participants purchase a seasonal share. In exchange for a 2026 share costing €435 (approximately €13.60 per week), members can visit weekly from May through December to harvest their own vegetables and herbs directly from the soil. All produce is grown locally and sustainably by gardener Mark Verhoef. The site is described as a biodiverse food landscape featuring plants, flowers, insects, and birds.
The garden is open for harvesting and visits during the following hours:
- Monday: 09:00–17:00
- Tuesday: 13:30–17:00
- Wednesday: 15:00–19:00
- Thursday: 09:00–17:00
- Friday: 09:00–15:00
- Saturday: 09:00–12:00
- Sunday: Closed
The 2026 shares are currently sold out, with a waiting list available for potential summer shares or 2027 shares. The business is listed as operational.
