De Pluktuin Rotterdam is a community garden and self-picking farm located at RFCweg/Essenburgpark in Rotterdam, specifically at RFCweg 190. It is accessible every Saturday from 13:00 via a small ferry, which can be found opposite Essenburgsingel nr 103. Established in 2009 by ProGroen, this initiative was created to maintain and enhance the green spaces in the RFCweg/Essenburgsingel area.

Visitors to De Pluktuin have the opportunity to engage in self-picking activities. Pumpkins are a prominent item available for picking, particularly featured during Halloween celebrations for carving events. The garden also offers workshops focused on wild foraging, indicating that a variety of wild edibles can be gathered from its grounds.

Beyond picking, the garden hosts a diverse program of community events and activities throughout the year. These include an annual Summer party featuring food, a BBQ, and live music, as well as Halloween festivities. Volunteer days, known as NLDOET DAG, are organized for individuals interested in helping with garden tasks. Additionally, workshops covering topics such as wild foraging and pesto making are part of the garden’s regular offerings.
