Zuiderkrib is a self-picking garden located in the Noordoostpolder, offering visitors the opportunity to harvest their own produce. The garden features a variety of flowers for self-picking, including tulips available from Easter in the spring, a selection of summer flowers from late June, and dahlias which can be harvested until the autumn holidays. Tools such as scissors and string are provided for guests to gather their chosen blooms.
In addition to flowers, the garden also allows for seasonal berry picking. Information regarding the different berry varieties is available in the aisles. Payment for picked items operates on a trust basis, facilitated by a price list with a QR code.
The garden is generally open daily from June until the end of October, from 10:00 to 18:00, with potential adjustments to opening times during warm weather. Special picking evenings are also organized at various times.
Beyond the self-picking experience, Zuiderkrib offers a ‘schenkerij’ (café) where visitors can enjoy coffee and cake. The farm hosts events such as a Tulip dinner in April and ‘picking parties’ suitable for both adults and children, often including refreshments. Flower arranging workshops are available for those interested in learning to create their own bouquets. For special occasions, custom field bouquets can be ordered a day in advance for pick-up or local delivery.
Parking is available at erf nr. 62, and the garden is also accessible via a bridge from a nearby bicycle path.
What visitors say
Sonja van Ouwerkerk found the farm to be incredibly pleasant and cozy, particularly enjoying its unique setting behind the neighbors’ gardens, which allows everyone to partake in the experience. Her sole minor disappointment was the absence of daffodils.
