Siem Entius Fruit Farm offers self-picking days for Wellant apples on October 26th, November 2nd, and November 9th, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own containers to fill with apples.
The farm also cultivates cherries, with the harvest season running from early July to late August. They grow various cherry types, including Merchant, Folver, Vanda, Kordia, Karina, Regina, Lapin, and Final.
In addition to self-picking, the farm sells kersen (Cherry) products in their store, such as juice, liquor, wine, jam, gluhwein, and other cherry-based refreshments. They also sell apple-pear syrup. Apples and pears are available for sale from November to February. They grow conference pears for long keeping, and Doyenne du Comice. Gieser Wildeman is another pear variety available from the beginning of October. In summer there is also a terrace to enjoy your pickings with icecream, cake and coffee. They also grow Opal plums, which are available from the end of July to the beginning of August.
What visitors say
This fruit farm is a must-visit, renowned for its exceptional cherries. Reviewers rave about the quality and taste, calling them the “best cherries ever” and praising the wide assortment available, from fresh fruit to cherry-based products like juice, jam, and wine. The homemade cherry ice cream and sorbet are particularly popular, though some find the canned whipped cream a letdown and the ice cream a bit pricey. In the autumn, the farm also sells delicious pears and apples, and homemade apple pies.
Beyond the fruit itself, the farm offers a pleasant experience with a small, inviting shop and a terrace where visitors can enjoy coffee, cake (often cherry-themed), and the beautiful surroundings. The service is consistently described as friendly and helpful. While there’s ample space for bicycles, parking for cars can be limited. Despite minor drawbacks like slightly higher prices and occasional issues with pre-packaged baked goods, the overwhelming consensus is that the superb fruit makes this destination well worth a visit, with many customers returning annually and calling it a highlight of their trip. The only real downside? Once you’ve tasted their cherries, it’s hard to enjoy any others.
