Gelukkige Groentes Ooij is a pick-your-own vegetable garden in Ooij where visitors harvest their own seasonal produce from May to December. The farm grows over 50 varieties of vegetables, herbs and edible flowers using regenerative, nature-inclusive methods.

You join through a harvest subscription, which allows weekly picking during the season. There is a waiting list for new members, who are invited for a tour before joining. The subscription cost depends on household size, with options for one-off payment or instalments. The farm operates on a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) model, sharing risks and benefits with members.

The garden is located behind the greenhouses of Ooijs Moois. Visits are by appointment only, and the farm encourages members to help with tasks if they wish. Dogs are not allowed. The team, led by head gardeners Arre and Poppy, also offers guided tours to explain the growing methods and how the subscription works.

The farm is part of De Streek op Tafel, a network promoting local and sustainable food in the Nijmegen region.

What visitors say

Visitors come to Ooijs Moois for the well-kept garden where you can pick your own flowers and vegetables with a season pass. The polder setting makes it a scenic spot, and some stop by because the historic zonnetrein (solar train) is stored there. Most describe it as a pleasant place, though there’s little detail on how the picking works or what exactly is available. A few mention it’s straightforward, but don’t expect much guidance—just rows to harvest from. The tone is positive, but the reviews are brief, so it’s hard to say more.
