Landwinkel Arkelandshoeve is a farm and farm shop situated on the outskirts of Ermelo, in the Telgt hamlet. The farm, run by Erik and Roelie Staal, is primarily a poultry farm raising ducks and chickens without antibiotics, and also keeps sheep.
The Landwinkel (farm shop) offers a diverse selection of products, including fresh meat from their own animals—duck, chicken, lamb, beef, pork, and veal—all raised without antibiotics. The shop also features a range of artisanal and regional products sourced from other Dutch farmers, and creates custom or ready-made gift baskets filled with local delicacies, including farmer’s cheese, fruit products, and handmade chocolates.
Behind the farm shop is Arkeland, a vegetable and self-picking garden established in 2014. Here, vegetables, herbs, and flowers are cultivated naturally in both the garden beds and a greenhouse, with visitors welcome to harvest their own produce.
Produce available for self-picking includes:
- From late May: Turnip greens, endive, early peas, and various types of lettuce.
- Later in the season: Broad beans, beetroot, courgettes, carrots, various cabbages, and pole beans.
- In the greenhouse: Cucumbers, various types of tomatoes, bell peppers, aubergines, and melons.
- The flower garden offers Dahlias, Zinnias, and Sunflowers during the summer months for picking.
- A herb garden provides various herbs such as parsley, celery, basil, mint, and lovage.
The farm offers a tranquil experience, with activities suitable for children like picking beans or pulling carrots. A terrace adjacent to the greenhouse provides a place to enjoy coffee, tea, or ice cream.
Landwinkel Arkelandshoeve is open from Wednesday to Saturday.
