This farm and garden is situated on the Hof ter Linde estate in Zeeland, spanning 6 hectares and dedicated to permaculture principles. It emphasizes a harmonious relationship with nature, cultivating pure, nutritious, and flavorful produce through methods like minimal soil disturbance and the integration of animals such as chickens, ducks, pigs, and sheep.
Visitors can stay in various accommodations, from “back to basic” camping with their own tent or camper in a 3-hectare food forest, to furnished tents or a more luxurious holiday home. The camping facilities are available from April to September.
The farm offers a diverse range of activities, including yoga classes, sourdough bread baking workshops, and “Herb Days” focused on learning about, harvesting, and processing medicinal plants. Guided tours of the permaculture garden and food forest allow guests to sample produce and gain insights into ecological gardening. “Work-along Days” invite participation in farm tasks, and there are also botanical monoprint workshops and foot massages. Younger guests can enjoy a playhouse, a football field, and assist with animal care.
Regarding produce, guests are encouraged to pick their own wild herbs and other edible species directly from the food forest. Herbs for flavoring food and water are also readily available for self-picking around the tent sites. While there is a specific garden where harvesting is guided by staff at set times, the farm shop provides unsprayed vegetables, fruits, nuts, and eggs from its own land for purchase during the camping season, along with freshly baked sourdough bread and other goods. The farm operates with a strong zero-waste philosophy, promoting composting and the use of biodegradable products.
