Pluktuin de Bosrand

Pluktuin de Bosrand is a sustainable pick-your-own farm located on the Wageningse Eng, offering visitors a chance to harvest their own flowers, fruit, and tea herbs. The farm combines agriculture with a tea garden and event space, creating a destination for both harvesting and relaxation.

Visitors can pick a wide variety of fruit throughout the season, which runs from late May to the beginning of November. The fruit selection includes raspberries, blackberries (thornless), grapes, plums, apples, pears, red currants, black currants, blueberries, gooseberries, Japanese wineberries, kiwi berries, chokeberries, rhubarb, and pumpkins. In addition to fruit, the farm offers a large selection of seasonal flowers including peonies, dahlias, cosmos, zinnias, heleniums, and sunflowers, as well as edible flowers and over 20 varieties of mint for tea. The farm does not have strawberries or cherries.

The farm is open from May 24th to November 1st. During regular season, it is open Wednesday and Friday from 12:30 to 17:30, and Saturday from 11:00 to 17:00. It is also frequently open on Sunday from 11:00 to 16:00, weather permitting. During school holidays (July 5 to August 31 and October 13 to October 24), it is additionally open Tuesday and Thursday from 12:30 to 17:30. The business is run by a female entrepreneur and is LGBTQ+ friendly. Payment can be made by pin, credit card, or contactless mobile payment, and free parking is available on site.

What visitors say

This self-picking farm and garden is widely celebrated for its beautiful, well-maintained grounds, offering a diverse array of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers for visitors to harvest themselves. Nestled in a picturesque location, it boasts stunning views over the Wageningse Eng, creating a peaceful and cozy atmosphere that many find ideal for a relaxing day out, often enjoyed by families and groups celebrating special occasions.

Visitors frequently commend the delicious homemade products, including juices and cakes crafted from the garden’s bounty, along with the unique experience of brewing custom herb teas. The owner and staff are often praised for their friendliness, passion, and helpfulness, contributing to a welcoming environment that occasionally hosts engaging workshops and events. Furthermore, the farm’s commitment to nature, demonstrated by its pesticide-free cultivation, is a significant draw for many.

However, some visitors have raised concerns, primarily regarding the pricing. The cost of self-picked items, particularly fruit and flowers, is frequently described as expensive, with specific feedback mentioning €15 per kilogram for fruit and comparatively high charges for bouquets. The recent introduction of a €4 entry fee, which includes self-picked tea, has also been noted; while it provides a structured experience, it has shifted the dynamic from a free, spontaneous rest stop to a more formal outing, disappointing some who previously enjoyed it as a casual stop during bike rides. A few reviewers also reported encountering staff they perceived as unfriendly or overly strict when discussing prices or picking quantities. Despite these reservations, the garden’s inherent beauty and the unique hands-on harvesting experience continue to be its main attractions.
