Pluktuin de Wâlden is a pick-your-own flower garden located in Twijzelerheide, Friesland. Spanning nearly 7,000 square meters, the farm is among the largest dahlia gardens in the region and is known for its spacious layout, large flower fields, and relaxed atmosphere. The garden focuses on sustainability, using no pesticides and only organic fertilizers, ensuring that the flowers are fresh, local, and environmentally friendly. The farm is also family-friendly, offering a welcoming environment for children to explore while parents enjoy the blooms.
Visitors can pick from more than 100 different varieties of dahlias during the season, which begins on July 18, 2026. The garden is open for picking throughout the summer months. Prices for picking are €0.75 per dahlia, with a special offer of 15 dahlias for €10.00. Scissors and buckets are provided free of charge, and payment can be made in cash or by card after picking. In addition to the picking fields, there is a small farm shop called “It Blommehúske” located at the entrance.
The garden is open for picking on Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. It is closed on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. The business is currently closed for the season but will reopen in July 2026. Additional amenities include free parking, gender-neutral toilets, picnic tables, and child-friendly activities. The farm is also suitable for group visits, workshops, and photography sessions, which can be arranged by appointment.
