Pluktuin Maarsbergen Maarn is a natural, small-scale self-picking flower garden located at Halmweg 1 in Maarn. The garden is open for visitors to pick their own flowers from June through September. Regular opening hours are every Wednesday from 9 AM to 12 PM. Should the Wednesday be rainy, the garden endeavors to open on a Thursday or Friday evening instead. Groups of 10 or more persons can arrange a picking session by appointment. Visitors are encouraged to bring a bucket to keep their freshly picked flowers hydrated.
The garden offers a diverse selection of flowers for self-picking, with varieties changing throughout the season. In May, visitors can find daisies and peonies. Lupines are available in June, followed by coneflowers (such as echinacea) in July. August features dahlias, while September offers autumn anemones and monkshood. The garden also introduces new flowering plants regularly, such as orange and red crocosmia. The soil health is maintained using only natural fertilization and homemade compost, and plants are naturally protected from pests.
In addition to self-picking, Pluktuin Maarsbergen Maarn provides various flower-related services. Custom floral arrangements are created for gifts, special occasions, or farewells, often incorporating natural materials harvested directly from the garden. The garden also hosts flower workshops for groups of six or more, with some individual sign-up dates available on a workshop calendar. These workshops teach participants how to create items such as sheaf bouquets, natural floral arrangements, ecoprints using garden flowers and leaves, and seasonal decorations like mini Christmas trees and wreaths.
