Pluktuin PlukWad is a self-picking farm located in Wijnaldum, Netherlands, where visitors can pick their own flowers from a vast field of various flower mixes. - Schooltuin PlukWad: Offers school garden education to local elementary schools, with three schools participating in 2024. The program aims to provide school garden education to every child in the Harlingen municipality.
- Dorpstuin Wynaam: A community vegetable garden for anyone who wants to participate, regardless of residency. Participants collectively grow various vegetables and herbs and share in the harvest.
- Verftuin Wolkaemer: A dye garden in collaboration with Wolwerkplaats De Wolkeamer from Franeker. Flowers and plants are grown to naturally dye wool, supporting the traditional craft and utilizing wool from local Frisian sheep.
The farm regularly hosts events, including yoga sessions, summer school garden activities for children, a toddler morning, theatrical performances, and a harvest festival with pumpkin sales.
Visitors can find Pluktuin PlukWad at Alde Leane, 8857 BP, Wijnaldum. The farm is open daily from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM during the season. To pick the flowers and vegetables from the Dorpstuin Wynaam is all done by the visitor itself, using the tools available at the farm. The cost of the flowers is calculated by measuring the stems against a marked scale at the entrance, and payment can be made digitally or in cash.
