Pluktuin PlukWad in Wijnaldum is a pick-your-own flower farm where you can cut your own bouquets from early July until late autumn. The field grows a mix of annuals and dahlias, with varieties chosen for their long vase life. You pay by the stem, using a simple measuring board at the entrance: slide the stems through the holes to see the price, then scan a QR code to pay or drop cash into a box. The farm provides scissors and buckets of water to keep flowers fresh while you pick.
The farm is open every day during the season, from 07.00 to 22.00. There is no need to book, and you can bring your own containers. Alongside the flower field, PlukWad runs a school garden project for local primary schools, where children grow vegetables and learn about food and nature. A small tea garden on the site, run by volunteers, serves drinks and light snacks on a self-service basis.
PlukWad also hosts workshops and seasonal events, such as a plant sale in May and a harvest festival in October with pumpkin sales and activities.
