De Marlequi is a diverse market garden and activity center located in Warmenhuizen, North Holland, operated by Margit and Koos Dekker. The farm is open daily from March 1st to November 11th, between 9:00 and 18:00.
It cultivates a variety of seasonal products. In spring, the garden offers violets, narcissi, and grape hyacinths, followed by a greenhouse filled with annual bedding plants such as fuchsias, petunias, geraniums, lobelias, bacopas, verbenas, and Spanish daisies. Summer features vibrant sunflowers, and autumn brings an abundance of edible and ornamental pumpkins and exotic bottle gourds. Dried flowers are also available.
Beyond its produce, De Marlequi offers a range of experiences. Guests can stay in comfortable hotel cottages that provide a serene escape with views of the nearby Schoorlse Duinen. The venue hosts creative and sporting group outings and workshops, including an escaperoom, discgolf, concrete painting, and pumpkin carving. Special events include “Plantjesdag” (Plant Day) on the Saturday before Mother’s Day, and the annual “Fair de Marlequi” in the third weekend of September, a large indoor market showcasing gardening, home & garden items, and a vast selection of pumpkins, accompanied by local products, live music, and family activities.
For those wishing to pick their own produce, the farm features a covered grape picking garden. Here, visitors can pick their own unsprayed grapes from 63 vines, specifically the sweet ‘Boskoops Glorie’ variety, available from September to November.
