Tuinderij Eyckenstein, Biologische groenten

Tuinderij Eyckenstein is an organic vegetable farm situated on the historical kitchen garden of Landgoed Eyckenstein in Maartensdijk. The farm cultivates a wide diversity of seasonal, certified organic vegetables.

The farm offers a self-picking program where participants can purchase a season-long share, allowing them to harvest their own organic vegetables once a week from late April to mid-October. Each week, a selection of five different vegetables is made available for self-pickers, with guidance provided by the growers.

For those not part of the self-picking program, freshly harvested organic produce can be purchased directly from the farm on Wednesdays from 1 PM to 5 PM and Saturdays from 10 AM to 3 PM, between May 2nd and October 17th.

The diverse range of produce cultivated on the farm includes:

  • Vegetables: Andive, asparagus, beets (including bosbiet), green/fresh garlic, cucumbers (including mini), spring onions, pak choi, snap peas, turnip greens, rhubarb, radishes, arugula (including wild), lettuce, Swiss chard, spinach, savoy cabbage, potatoes (various varieties like Charlotte, Belle de Fontenay, Blaue Anneliese, Alouette, Heiderot), carrots, zucchini, peas, broad beans, kohlrabi, leeks, shallots, green beans, pointed cabbage, fennel, basil, butter beans, slicing beans, tomatoes (various types like cherry, round red, beefsteak, plum), eggplant, corn, collard greens, bell peppers, parsnips, pumpkin, runner beans, celery root, and zapalito.
  • Fruits: Strawberries, gooseberries, blackberries, raspberries, Japanese wineberry, melons, apples, and pears.
  • Herbs: Parsley.

Additionally, adjacent to the vegetable garden, Agnes Kruiden offers herbal plants, products, and cut flowers. The farm also provides facilities for group visits, guided tours of the garden and its historic greenhouses, and the orangerie is available for event rentals.
