Vriend Aardbeien is a family farm run by Frits and Amanda Vriend, with a rich history of cultivating strawberries for over 50 years. Located at Ganker 7 in Benningbroek, the farm also maintains sales points in Andijk, at Intratuin Hoorn, Sprookjeswonderland, and an upcoming location in Wognum from April 2026.
The strawberry season at Vriend Aardbeien spans from mid-April to the end of December. The farm invites visitors to participate in self-picking strawberries during their dedicated “Plukdagen” (picking days), which typically take place in October. Reservations for these picking days open on September 1st. While large groups of 25 or more can arrange special visits, smaller groups are welcome exclusively during the designated picking events.
In addition to fresh strawberries, the farm’s shop offers a variety of regional products, including artisanal jams, juices, lemonade, local cheeses, nuts, and baking mixes. Strawberries become available for purchase starting around the third week of April, either directly from the Benningbroek farm (which features a strawberry vending machine for convenience outside Saturday hours), from their various regional outlets, or through their webshop. Vriend Aardbeien also provides special Christmas gift packages.
