De Nieuwe Akker is a self-picking farm located between Schalkhaar and De Vijfhoek (Deventer-Oost) where you can harvest your own vegetables. All produce is grown without pesticides or artificial fertilizer. By purchasing a harvest subscription, you become a member and can harvest fresh vegetables every week.

Currently, there is a temporary membership stop due to high demand. You can join the waiting list for the next season (2025) via email.

The farm also offers open days with various activities. They practice Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) principles, where members share in the harvest and costs, with open communication and transparency. They focus on biological farming practices, emphasizing healthy soil, crop rotation, and biodiversity.

Produce that can be harvested at the moment of the last update includes:

  • Salsify (Schorseneer)
  • Parsnip (Pastinaak)
  • Jerusalem artichokes (Aardpeer)
  • Winter purslane
